FOURTH OF JULY AND PETS: NOW is the time to contact your veterinarian to get drugs for the 4th of July if your animals hate the fireworks. Don’t wait. Some vets will suggest using Benadryl to just knock them out, but I prefer Hydroxyzine since it is anti-anxiety. Hydroxyzine can also be given to horses, and I have gotten the powdered formula from Chewy. Double and triple check your fences. Don’t leave your pets outside and for goodness’ sake, do NOT take your dogs to SEE the fireworks. The best thing is to stay home with your pets and watch the fireworks on TV. I have had clients whose dogs busted through a huge living room window, broke through a screen door, chewed their way through a wooden door, etc. and they all got lost. No one would ever have thought that these pets would have been able to get out, but they all did. The day after the 4th is one of my busiest days looking for lost pets. I would love to not have to do any lost pet readings.
EMERGENCY PREPARDNESS – Summer is the time for lots of natural disasters. We have already seen so many tornadoes this spring. Fires are raging in Canada. We get them here often too. Floods, hurricanes and more are common. Get with your family and develop an emergency preparedness plan. If you have to evacuate, make sure you take your animals and their needed supplies with you. Never leave your pets behind. Make sure you have everyone’s medications. It is helpful to have a list of what you need to pack if you have to leave. It makes packing easier. Plastic waterproof containers keep everything safe and dry. There are lots of websites that can help you to plan. Make sure you have important documents too such as your insurance contact and access to your medical records, most of which you can obtain online.

INNER CHILD WORK – We are born powerful. We have just come from Source energy. Then little by little, people take our power. By the time we hit puberty, we feel like crap. It is important for overall healing to take your power back. Write letters to anyone and everyone who has taken your power. Then burn the letters while you say out loud, “No one is ever going to treat me like that again!” You may be surprised at what comes out on the paper and how much lighter you feel when you are done. Find your inner child within you. Ask them to come up into your heart so you can give them unconditional love and protect them. It is so healing to do this.
